Mississauga: Peel police are diving into a single-vehicle crash that happened early Monday. They’ve got homicide investigators on the case now.

So, here’s the scoop: a 24-year-old guy was shot before the crash, which went down around 1:45 a.m. on Dixie Road, just south of Derry Road. The man has been identified as Gurvinder Singh from Caledon, Ontario.

It seems the shooting happened during some sort of altercation at a nearby industrial area. He tried to get away but ended up crashing his vehicle. When the police found him, he had serious injuries and was rushed to a trauma center, but sadly, he didn’t make it.

Right now, it’s still early days in the investigation, and they’re not sure if he died from the shooting or the crash. Police are asking anyone who might have seen anything or has dashcam footage to step forward.

Oh, and just a heads up, Dixie Road is closed southbound from Derry to Mid-Way Boulevard while they sort this all out.
